PESTICIDE INFORMATION SYSTEM

ABSTRACT

The Pesticides Information System is a web-based system, which gives information relating to the clients and dealers of the company with respect to its pesticides product launches. An application has to be developed which would minimize the flaws of the existing system. This project would automate the operations of the management and would retain the present functionality available in the current system. The scope of this project is to enable the user of an organization to view the issues through the LAN/Internet. Based on the category of the user i.e. employee or administrator, the various parts of the system are made available to the users.

Pesticides Information System provides proper channel for the client, dealer and the company management to communicate among themselves. The software product has been designed to provide specific services to the end user. The scope of the system includes three areas of the company that is Marketing department and accounting department. The main intention of this system is to automate the services of the company that will reach the clients and dealers easily beside being advantageous to the company itself.

This volume presents the manner in which the software was developed and how the various problems are tackled at the different levels for the convenience of a user.

We hope that this package would prove to be an excellent Web-based Information System.

Existing System:

Is no proper system to manage thing in the organization. Proper security features and authentication is not available in the existing system. Hence, the system is time-consuming and inefficient to maintain a large amount of information and also its retrieval. This also results in improper administration.

Drawbacks of the Existing System

Proposed System and its features:

In this system, we can assign a unique identification number to each and every dealer as well as the customer. Using this identification number, we can get the dealer and customer details easily at any time. The proposed system overcomes the drawbacks of the existing system. Proper authentication is made available with this system.

Scope of the study

Scope: This Document plays a vital role in the development lifecycle (SDLC) as it describes the complete requirement of the system. It is meant for use by the developers and will be the basic during testing phase. Any changes made to the requirements in the future will have to go through formal change approval process.

Database Tier: The concentration is applied by adopting a wide range of DBMS.

User Tier: The user interface is developed in a browser specific environment to have web-based architecture. The components are designed using HTML standards and Java server pages power the dynamic of the page design. JavaScript for Loading graphics and Validations.

Data Base Connectivity Tier: The communication architecture is designed by concentrating on the standards of servlets and JSP’s. The database connectivity is established using the JDBC.

SYSTEM ANALYSIS

Study of the System

Before planning a replacing for a new system it is essential to have thorough knowledge about the existing system along with the estimation of how lost computes can be used to make its operations more efficient.

System analysis is the process of collecting and interpreting facts, disposing problem and use the information about the existing system, which is also called as system study.

System analysis is about the understanding situation but not solving the problem.

System analysis is performed to determine whether a not it is feasible to design and information system laved on the policies and plans of an organization. To determine the user requirements and to eliminate the weakness of the present system a few general requirements are concerned.

General Requirement:

The new system should be cost-effective

To improve productivity and service and service.

To enhance the user interface.

To improve information presentation and durability.

To upgrade systems reliability, availability and flexibility.

To address human factors for better and uses acceptance.

Input and output

The current trend in the software industry is user-friendliness and flexibility. The two main factors contributing towards this are screen and Menus. The screens in the system are designed to be self-descriptive so as to direct the user while using the system. The screen formats are user-friendly and interactive in nature. The screen size is also standardized.

INPUT DESIGN

Inaccurate input data are a most common cause of errors in data processing. Input interface design takes an important role in controlling the errors. Messages are generated using the Exception handling features of JAVA. The input forms are designed in a flexible way. Sample input forms are shown in the appendix.

OUTPUT DESIGN

Output design determines how to show all the information and data after processing the input data. Sample output screens and reports are shown in the appendix.

IO (Input Output) Charts technique is used to know the set or specifications for each module.

For each module depicted in the hierarchy chart an IO chart is used to describe the input to, the outputs from and the process performed by the activity. The data dictionary is the source of input and outputs and algorithm description defines the process. The administrator and the user can easily follow the project structure depicted by the graphic of the IO charts.

An application has to be developed in JAVA using SERVLETS & JSP.
This application requires MS-Access as backend organizer.
